It was and will be our only visit to Abbott's in Craighurst. Even after making a reservation, we had to wait at least 15 mins. to get water and a menu. The waitress didn't even mention any soup of the day or special of the day, but when the second waitress arrived, we heard her mention these items to her customers!!! They were very understaffed, there were dead flowers cascading their petals onto the tables and the place was definitely not very clean!! It took another 15 minutes to get a drink! The food was not too bad, when we finally got it, however I can honestly say that I have never really had tough salmon, so that was a first!! Not a Happy Anniversary!!

We visit Abbott's as often as we can. It's a country restaurant with a friendly country feel and amazing country food. The staff, the art and the ambiance are very welcoming. We're lucky to have a restaurant like this just up the road.

We come to Horshoe Valley a few times a year and thought we'd try Abbots. We were told that the calamari was excellent but they didn't have any. The waiter was also below average. (he insulted us by saying we ate our appetizers too quick - if they hadn't taken 20 minutes to get them we might have eaten slower)
The main course took about 30 minutes after we finished our apps. The table next to us, who had been sitting prior to us being seated, had not received their food and were about to walk out. We almost followed. We ordered the chicken penne that was good, and a shrimp and pesto pasta which was also good but only included 6 shrimp that you would find in a grocery store $5 shrimp ring.

Overall - service was adequate (minus the insult) food was extremely slow to receive and it was way overpriced for pasta. The two basic pasta dishes totalled $ 34 and it didn't come with a side salad, bread or anything. (we didn't know the price of the shrimp and pesto as it was a feature and the waiter didn't tell us when we ordered)

My husband and I used to visit Abbotts often when we lived in Craighurst. We hadn't been there in about 3 years and decided to go there for our 12th Anniversary. The menu is small but a very nice selection. We ordered the calimari for an appetizer and then we both had the lamb curry special with basmati rice and fresh vegetables. The portion size was just enough and so tasty. We left full and satisfied. If you are a vegetarian, I recommend you visit a vegetarian restaurant. Meat and seafood are the specialties.....!! Highly recommended.

I was disappointed! I made a reservation based on a web review I had read, referring to vegetarian alternatives on the menu. After reviewing the menu, which contained absolutely nothing vegetarian beyond an appetizer, I asked the server, and he had to be coaxed to offer me something - the salmon pasta, minus the pasta, for which I was charged full price. Not happy. Also not happy about having to ask for water every time I wanted it.

My husband and I have frequented Abbott's of Craighurst probably 3 times in the last 2 months. Each time we have eaten there, it has been a very enjoyable experience. Our accolades to the chef and to the serving staff. There is a wide range of variety with the entres and the quality and quantity of food along with the reasonable cost, makes it an excellent eating experience. We are very pleased to have such a wonderful restaurant so close to home.
